We’re excited to announce the launch of a new ministry at Crossroads, the Parish Nurse Ministry, dedicated to promoting health and wholeness within our church family. This ministry is led by Cherrie Fleming and Lyn Polk, both certified Parish Nurses who bring not only professional expertise but a deep calling to serve through their nursing gifts. Years ago, in different states and at different times, Cherrie and Lyn each felt led to pursue additional education so they could integrate their medical knowledge into a faith-based setting. As part of this ministry, Cherrie and Lyn will be:

    •  Sharing health-related information and resources through our church website to support wellness and education.
    •  Offering monthly blood pressure checks on Communion Sundays available to anyone who would like to participate. Cherrie and Lyn will be available on the first Sunday of each month over in the Welcome area to take your blood pressure.  Maybe with some focus, some of us can drop a couple points off our B/P by the New Year!

This ministry is rooted in the belief that caring for our bodies is part of honoring God’s gift of life. Through education, encouragement, and presence, our Parish Nurses will help us steward our health in community.  We give thanks for Cherrie and Lyn’s vision and service, and we look forward to the ways this ministry will deepen our care for one another.
